River Severn from Arlingham

This scenic walk follows the tidal River Severn from the village of Arlingham, offering expansive views of the river and surrounding countryside. Starting near the Red Lion Inn, the route joins the Severn Way and tracks the riverbank eastwards, passing the Old Passage Inn and providing glimpses across to Newnham village. The terrain is relatively flat with easy walking along clear paths, and walkers can expect changing river landscapes depending on tide levels - from exposed sandbanks to the full river width. The 9.7km circular route crosses several fields and includes short sections of country lanes, returning to Arlingham via a gentle inland path.
